1:1 English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutoring

Welcome to our personalized ESL tutoring program—designed to support young English language learners as they grow in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Each session is tailored to your child’s level, goals, and learning pace, helping them build confidence and fluency in a supportive one-on-one environment.

Using research-based strategies and engaging activities, we focus on practical language skills, vocabulary development, grammar, sentence structure, pronunciation, and comprehension. Whether your learner is just beginning to speak English or wants to strengthen academic language, we’ll meet them where they are and help them thrive.

Our program focuses on the core building blocks of literacy, with instruction tailored to your child’s unique level and needs.

Topics may include:

  • Letter sounds & phonics

  • Short and long vowels

  • Digraphs & vowel teams

  • R-controlled vowels

  • Word families & sight words

  • High-frequency word mastery

  • Syllable types & decoding strategies

  • Vocabulary development

  • Spelling

  • Multisyllabic words

  • Sentence building & early writing

  • Reading fluency and comprehension skills

Every child learns differently, so each session is carefully tailored to your child’s current level, learning pace, and specific needs—ensuring they receive the right support at the right time. Lessons follow a structured, research-backed sequence, but are always adapted to meet your learner where they are.

 How Is the Class Structured?

Each 20-minute session is tailored to your child’s needs and may include a mix of the following:

  • Placement Assessment – To tailor the instruction

​

  • Engaging Topic Intro – With songs, videos, games, or interactive stories

​

  • Interactive Practice – Using slides, worksheets, hands-on tools, and challenges

​

  • Fluency Practice – Reading words or passages with guided support

​

  • Creative Sentence Building – Applying new sounds/words in writing

​

  • Review & Reinforcement – Fun review games, challenges, and check-ins

​

  • Optional Homework – Practice sheets and activities for home, with extra optional homework                                                                        provided on Fridays for independent practice

STEP ONE - Reserve Your Spot

Choose your program and secure your spot! If you have any scheduling requests, just send us a message. After signing up, you’ll receive a welcome letter with helpful information about what to expect in your first class and the weeks ahead—guiding you along every step of your reading journey.

STEP TWO - First Class and                   Assessments

On welcome day, we’ll get to know each other with fun games and complete initial Science of Reading assessments to find your student’s perfect starting point.

STEP THREE - Watch Them                        Shine

See your student gain confidence, read, write, and shine with growing accuracy and progress every step of the way.
