At Read, Write, Shine, our teachers are more than educators—they’re dedicated reading coaches and positive role models committed to inspiring and motivating every student. We believe that building a strong connection and fostering a love of reading is just as important as teaching the skills themselves.

Our teachers use strategies like positive reinforcement, encouragement, and redirection to help your learner stay engaged, confident, and focused as they build essential reading skills. Whether celebrating small victories or gently guiding students through challenges, our teachers are there every step of the way.

Each member of our teaching team brings extensive classroom experience—in person, online, or both—and has received comprehensive training in the Science of Reading as well as in the specialized curriculum we use. You can trust that your child is learning with a teacher who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and committed to helping them thrive.
Ms. Liv
Founder & Educator
Hi, I’m Ms. Liv! I’m the founder of Read, Write, Shine and a passionate educator with over 6 years of experience helping students build strong reading and literacy skills. I specialize in working one-on-one with K–8 learners, creating hands-on, engaging lessons that help students grow in confidence and ability.
​
My teaching approach is grounded in the Science of Reading and fueled by a love for making learning fun, interactive, and something students look forward to. I’ve worked extensively with multilingual learners and strive to create a safe, encouraging space where all students feel seen, supported, and excited to participate.
​
Outside the classroom, you’ll usually find me baking something sweet, planning my next travel adventure, or hanging out with my two cats. (And if I could be any animal, I’d definitely be a dolphin—smart, playful, and always up for an adventure!)

Ms. Jess
ESL Specialist and Educator
Hi, I’m Ms. Jess! I’m a licensed educator with over 20 years of experience teaching students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. For the past 17 years, I’ve specialized in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), and for the last 10 years, I’ve had the joy of working with ESL students online.
​
I’ve supported learners from diverse backgrounds in building their skills in speaking, listening, reading, comprehension, grammar, and fluency through interactive, engaging lessons. Whether I’m helping a beginner with their first English words or guiding an advanced student to refine their communication, I aim to create a supportive, confidence-building space.
​
Recently, I’ve also started offering reading and literacy classes—something I’m truly passionate about! I love helping students develop a strong foundation in reading and can’t wait to support your child’s growth.
​
Before teaching online, I worked in traditional classrooms across various grade levels and subjects. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and am certified to teach all subjects in Grades K–6, as well as Science through Grade 9.
​
No matter the setting, my goal is always the same: to help students feel seen, successful, and excited to learn.
Our Teaching Philosophy
At Read, Write & Shine, we believe learning should be interactive, engaging, and personalized for every student. We bring reading and writing to life through songs, videos, games, and hands-on activities designed to reach different learning styles. Whether practicing phonics with a fun video or strengthening fluency through an exciting game, each lesson is crafted to keep learners motivated and actively involved.

Our approach is warm, enthusiastic, and encouraging. We create a safe, supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, embracing mistakes, and celebrating progress. Building confidence is just as important as developing skills, and we’re dedicated to helping every learner shine as they grow.
Our Qualifications
Our teachers bring a wealth of diverse experience and expertise in both reading and literacy instruction as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching. Each instructor holds relevant certifications and has received advanced training grounded in the Science of Reading and proven ESL methodologies.

With backgrounds spanning in-person classrooms, online tutoring, and community literacy programs, our educators are skilled in creating engaging, evidence-based, and student-centered lessons tailored to each learner’s unique needs.

Together, we are dedicated to helping every child build solid literacy foundations, improve language skills, and grow into confident, lifelong readers and communicators.
